Becoming an MLM Talent Agent

It’s all about CONFIDENCE… yes, confidence in yourself, your company, your products and your abilities. You must have a strong belief system in yourself before you can become successful at attracting others.
I’ve been in the MLM industry now for 20 years and one of the most important things I’ve learned is that it’s vitally important to be working on our self development… constantly reinforcing our skills and our self image… which of course instills confidence!
When you have that self assuredness, that confidence in yourself, you wake up one day and lo and behold you’ve miraculously developed “posture”. Posture is that when you are seeking people to join your MLM business you are no longer shy or afraid to talk to highly experienced or successful people. You have now become not the recruiter but the “MLM talent agent”… seeking the best of the best.
When I first began in MLM I likened myself to being a “recruiter”… I was talking to anyone who I could. Now that really wasn’t’ what I should have done… but it took some time to develop the “Posture” that I needed in order for me to be only talking with those people who first wanted to talk to me and were “looking” for what I had to offer.
Frankly, a recruiter is a person who “persuades” and convinces people to join them. This type of a person is really a “shark” in business clothes… and often times people just say “yes” to get rid of the recruiter. In most instances this type of person once they convince you to join and sign you up, they’re gone! And the result is that many quit because they didn’t have the support or the knowledge or strong desire to move forward with their business. While the recruiter is off on new conquests, leaving a long trail of burned out recruits!
Unfortunately the recruiter didn’t even take the time to create a relationship with the person… all they cared about was getting them to sign up and make the recruiting bucks. It was the thrill of the chase, and frankly these people usually aren’t’ great leaders, trainers or mentors… but man can they recruit!
To become truly successful in MLM you need to develop the MLM Talent Agent mentality. Which means you first must become a leader and learn from your mentors and develop your skills, self confidence and become a product of the product of your company and learn all you can about the industry and your company… and remember to surround yourself with successful people who you can learn from.
Being an MLM Talent Agent means being tuned into people… keeping your eyes open for talented people who have skills that would be good for this business and whom you would want to train, teach, mentor and help develop so they too can become good leaders.
Be selective about whom you sponsor and work with… you should be working with highly motivated people who see the benefit of being coached and mentored by you and want to acquire all that you can offer to them for them to achieve success.
Don’t forget, you’re NOT a recruiter; you’re a talent agent looking for ordinary people who want to accomplish extraordinary things in the MLM industry with you as their coach. When you have this attitude and discipline people will be drawn to you because they know what you have to offer… and they want it!
