The Sales MOMS Direct Sales Network was launched in March of 2006 just after my first child was born.  I had went from being a work-a-holic who was putting in over 60 hours a week at work to being what I felt was a bump on the log who did nothing but wipe butts and clean up puke.  Although being a stay-at-home mom is very rewarding is it also very tedious and I found that for me, personally, I was going to drive myself insane if I had to watch one more Baby Einstein movie.

Stay-at-Home moms everywhere, I commend you!  You do the work of 50 and usually without a complaint in the world.

I found myself looking for ways to have the best of both worlds.  I needed a job that I could loose myself in during nap times and evenings before my husband came home but also needed the flexibility to be there for my family when they needed me.  Sounds like the job of a lifetime doesn’t it.  Turns out no one hires people who only want to work during nap time.  So I decided to take matters into my own hands and be my own boss.  Not a new concept these days, but something that I knew would take my mind off of knowing that I was pregnant with my second child and that finances were about to get really tight.

Having been in the direct sales field for almost 8 years I knew that I would be successful at it BUT I also knew that I would have to leave my family during the evening hours and on weekends in order to do home parties.  This wasn’t ideal but was certainly something that could work.  So I joined BeautiControl.  What is  better than giving overworked women an entire hour of spa relaxation.  I was off and running, the home party bookings rolled in fast and having a second baby on it’s way didn’t seem to be so pressing on our pocketbooks.

Almost  four months into my new direct sales business I had attended “Celebration”,  my Director was singing my praises and I was on my way to the top.  But I found myself starting to miss cleaning up that baby puke and watching those silly Baby Einstein movies.  I was suddenly away from my family way more than I had wanted to be and felt that my husband and I were growing apart.

After some brainstorming I decided  I would take to the internet and use it to build my direct sales business.  There were so many untapped resources available to me and I was able to stay home with my family every night of the week.    In working with social media groups, online websites and doing massive amounts of online parties my business was booming!  My downline stretched across 12 states and my customers touched on 20 states.  My team was constantly asking me what the “magic touch” was to my business.  The only answer I truly had was the internet.

After being a BeautiControl consultant for 2 years I decided to step down and truly become my own boss by helping other direct sales consultants tap into that market that helped me become so successful.
