<p>I was recently asked by 2 different <a title="Direct sales consultants" href="http://salesmomsnetwork.com/category/for-direct-sales-consultants/" target="_self">Direct Sales consultants</a> this burning question&#8230; &#8220;Do I have the right to turn down a home party request?&#8221;</p>
<p>My answer is yes! When it comes to having your own home party plan business, you do indeed to have the right to turn down a home party request due to safety or health concerns.</p>
<p>Here are some common problems with some suggested solutions.</p>
<p><strong>Example #1:</strong> Your party host lives in an unsafe area of town. If you feel your safety could be compromised, I recommend selecting an alternate location. If your <a title="hostess coaching" href="http://salesmomsnetwork.com/category/hostess-coaching/" target="_self">party host</a> refuses to relocate her party to a different location, I feel its your job to help her find another consultant who doesn&#8217;t mind traveling to that area of town.</p>
<p><strong>Example #2</strong>: If your party host has had parties before but his/her home is unsanitary, you can nicely suggest an alternative location. You can offer to let her use your home if need be, to host her party.</p>
<p>When dealing with this type of scenario, please watch your wording as you don&#8217;t want to offend your party host. If the host still insists on having the party at her home, you can be tactful and explain your reasons why you feel this would not be a good idea. If the conversation has gotten to that point, 9 chances out of 10, she will decide on another location or she will come to terms that her home needs to be cleaned up.</p>
<p><strong>Example #3:</strong> If the party host has a reputation of booking numerous parties with various consultants and is constantly canceling them or there are some other type of serious issues that you are aware of, you can indeed refuse the request. However, it is also your job to find another consultant for her or to refer her to corporate headquarters so that they can help her find a consultant.</p>
<p>These 3 examples are just that&#8230;examples of some scenarios you might face while in Direct Sales.</p>
<p>The important thing to remember is that you do have the right to refuse any home party booking that you do not feel comfortable with. In doing so, you are more than likely losing a customer and/or party host.</p>
<p>I feel it is important that you be honest with your party host about any concerns you may have and if you need to refuse the booking, help them find a new consultant who will accept the booking.</p>

<p>Well the fact is that that number may be a bit inflated. But even if they’re not the secret is that the people that you do sponsor into your home business are good solid leads that will do what you ask of them, and take your lead.</p>
<p>Basically you want people who see you as the person that they just HAVE to work with.</p>
<p>The Best Way to Get People to Look Up to You and Join Your MLM Business Opportunity…</p>
<p>For this to happen you can’t just show people how great you are in the MLM industry. You can’t just say “I can make you a ton of money” or “I have lots of great training to give you if you join with me in my business. Nope… you have to prove yourself beforehand. How do you do this?</p>
<p>Well the first thing that you have to make sure to do is provide a ton of value to that prospect. In other words you have to make them see that you have a boatload of very results oriented and effective knowledge that you’ll just hand them over for free.</p>
<p>Now a lot of people are afraid to that, but here’s why it works. Your MLM business prospect has something on their mind when it comes to you. That something is “what can this person do for me that everyone else can’t do”. So you have to prove that right off the bat. And then what happens is that they begin to think…well if they’re giving me this much valuable and usable information now…imagine what they’d give me if I joined with them in their business. Imagine how fast this person can show me how to become financially free.</p>
<p>So giving a ton of value up front is very important.</p>
<p>The next thing that you need though is credibility. Now credibility can come in a lot of different forms. The best kind of credibility is third party word of mouth credibility. Having others say great things about you is a wonderful way to get people to see you as the real deal.</p>
<p>Another great way of earning credibility though is almost a trick but it works. It’s being published! Being a published writer, having a video published somewhere other than your own website.</p>
<p>But here’s the great part. It doesn’t have to be published offline anymore. Having something published online these days is just as credible. So in other words if you have articles that you’ve written for you MLM business and you’ve published them at Ezinearticles.com and it shows that you’re an “Expert Author” then you’ve got credibility from that.</p>
<p>Because frankly, most people don’t realize that anyone can just write an article and publish it, so then when they read your article they think “wow, this guy must be good”.</p>
<p>Other places to look credible are through press releases, or guest posts on someone else’s blog, or a mention from someone else’s mailing list.</p>
<p>Then there’s always the biggie of having a print book published, and nowadays self publishing is easier than ever, and just about anyone with even a meager budget can do it.</p>

<p>I would like to tell you up front that it&#8217;s not easy. You will need to get organized and prioritize your home and business tasks. You will need to attend company trainings and consistently work on your business so that it will succeed.</p>
<p>This ABC Checklist will be a great reminder of what it takes to run a successful business from home.</p>
<p><strong>Advertising -</strong> You need to advertise your home business to make it grow. Advertising can be done online or offline, but your advertising efforts will need to be consistent. Keep track of which ads bring you the results you seek and toss the ones that don&#8217;t work.</p>
<p><strong>Bookkeeping </strong>- You need to keep records of all your expenses and income. If you are not great at bookkeeping, consider hiring a virtual assistant or bookkeeper for your home office.</p>
<p><strong>Customer Service</strong> &#8211; Give your customers great service to keep them coming back for more and to generate word of mouth referrals.</p>
<p><strong>Dedication </strong>- It takes a lot of hard work and patience to grow a successful home business. You will need to dedicate time every week to work your business.</p>
<p><strong>Education</strong> &#8211; Take time to educate yourself about having a home based business. Purchase books or get on the web and read up on topics related to Direct Sales and Network Marketing.</p>
<p><strong>Fundraising</strong> &#8211; If your company offers a fundraising program, make sure you advertise and promote it. Sales that you pull in from fundraising programs can really boost your income.</p>
<p><strong>Goal Setting</strong> &#8211; I find that when I make a list of my weekly, monthly and quarterly business goals and break those goals down into manageable chunks, that it keeps me focused and driven to accomplish the things that need to be done.</p>
<p><strong>Hostess Coaching</strong> &#8211; It&#8217;s your job to coach your party host so that he/she will succeed in earning all of the free products and half-price specials. A party host who is completely satisfied with their home party experience are more likely to rebook additional parties from you.</p>
<p><strong>Inventory </strong>- You need to keep products on hand to show at your home parties and to your customers. Update your inventory every few weeks or months with new offerings.</p>
<p><strong>Juggling Act</strong> &#8211; When you work from home, life can be a juggling act. You will need to set up a schedule for family time, household chores, errands and of course, work time.</p>
<p><strong>Keep Working It</strong> &#8211; You will find that you will not get rich overnight, matter of fact, you most likely won&#8217;t get rich at all. However, you need to keep working your business to get it to grow and prosper.</p>
<p><strong>Leadership</strong> &#8211; Look to your sponsors and managers for leadership in training and business knowledge. As you grow your own team, you will become a leader and will need to set a good example for your own team.</p>
<p><strong>Marketing</strong> &#8211; Sit down and draft up a business marketing plan. It&#8217;s your responsibility to market your business and the product that you represent. Set your marketing plan into action immediately and revise it as you go along.</p>
<p><strong>Networking</strong> &#8211; Set aside a few hours every week to network with other like-minded Direct Sales home business people. You can find online and offline networking groups that you can join.</p>
<p><strong>Organization</strong> &#8211; Keep your business training materials, paperwork and record keeping organized. You want to be able to find things in a timely manner.</p>
<p><strong>Party Bookings and Party Hosts</strong> &#8211; Home parties are the heart of every Direct Sales business. It is your job to promote the home party opportunity by encouraging customers to book parties.</p>
<p><strong>Quality Products</strong> &#8211; When it comes to representing and promoting a company, you need to choose one that has high quality products. These days, customers want quality and unique products that are often times not found in a retail store setting.</p>
<p><strong>Recruiting </strong>- It is important to grow your Direct Sales team by recruiting/sponsoring new team members into the company you represent. Spend time every week promoting the home business opportunity to everyone you meet.</p>
<p><strong>Sales</strong> &#8211; The main focus of your business is on product sales. You will need to work hard and consistently promoting your business to new and established customers.</p>
<p><strong>Team Management</strong> &#8211; You will need to spend a few hours every week managing and training your team. You can set up weekly or monthly team meetings to offer support, training, motivation and recognition.</p>
<p><strong>Up-selling</strong> &#8211; When customers place an order with you, try to up-sell an additional product to them. This product should be less than $12.00 in cost and coincide or relate to the products that they are purchasing from you.</p>
<p><strong>Visualization</strong> &#8211; Sit down and visualize where you want your business to be in 1 year, 2 years and 3 years from now. Once you do that, draft up an advertising and marketing business plan. Set that plan into motion immediately and start seeing the results.</p>
<p><strong>Working Business Schedule</strong> &#8211; You will get more tasks accomplished if you sit down and come up with a business schedule of when you will be working on your business. Let family and friends know you will be unavailable during your working hours for personal things.</p>
<p><strong>X Out</strong> &#8211; You need to go over your daily agenda and tasks list. X out every thing that you got accomplished. Keeping a daily to-do list will keep you on track and focused.</p>
<p><strong>Your Success</strong> &#8211; What does success mean to you? Do you have the dedication and drive to overcome any obstacles that may come your way? Your success depends on your determination to make your business succeed.</p>
<p><strong>Zest</strong> &#8211; You need to have a passion for what you are doing and enjoy doing it. Your attitude will affect whether or not you obtain your goals and objectives.</p>
