In- Home parties are a great way to market your home based business. For one, you are invited into someones home and are now a trustworthy contact for their friends and family. Secondly, you are now a friend and someone they can trust. Sales boom when customers feel like you are “one of them”.

However, just because you are invited into someones home, doesn’t mean that every party will be worth your time. Here are a few tips to make sure that this event is a great success for both you and your hostess.

Hostess Coaching: Work closely with the hostess to invite her guests. Give her an attendee goal and help her with the invitations. For example, I would recommend inviting through several means: phone calls, snail mail, evite, facebook, or text. People respond to different medias and you want to make sure they feel personally invited to the party.

Speak with your hostess at least 3 times before the event.
1. To explain how a party is run and the hostess benefits. Perhaps give her an attendee goal!
2. To discuss her created guest list and ensure that all invites have been sent out.
3. To gather a guest count and remind her of her hostess benefits.

Gather the names, phone numbers, and emails of the guests and contact them the night before to remind them of the party and see if they have any questions.

Do not be nervous to call the guests who have not RSVPed. People are busy! If they haven’t gotten back to you, it doesn’t mean that they are not interested. It simply means that they are busy and forgot to reply, or maybe they have questions regarding your product before they commit to attending a party at their friend’s home.

Successful In – Home Party Presentation: Have fun! This is a social gathering of friends, as well as a product demonstration. This is a time to build relationships, ask questions, and get to know your guests needs.

Keep it simple. Keep food to a minimum. You do not want future hosts to feel like they have to provide a buffet for their 2 hour home party.

Be organized and have a clear plan so the guests know what to expect.

Party Follow – Up: It is important that you follow up with your guests several times over the next few months.

Remember the 2/2/2 rule:
1. Two days after the event to thank them for coming and see if they would like to book a party,
2. Two weeks after the event to make sure they received their order,
3. Two months after the event to see if they have any questions and are still pleased.

This follow up is an important piece of the puzzle as you build relationships and gain more business!

by Joel Yount

In a matter of days people all across the country will be joining friends and family for a wonderful time of fellowship and celebration gathering around a table. In many cases, we will likely see people who we don’t normally see all the time. However, passing around the turkey or stuffing isn’t the only thing we can share at the table. In some family traditions, every one sitting at the table takes turns going around and saying what they are thankful for. If you have a home based business, why not embrace the opportunity to express your home based business?

In addition, why not bring some small samples of some popular products along to share after the meal? You never know who may ask for more information. In the meantime, enjoy the season of Thanksgiving and cherish the ones you spend it with.

Looking forward to the cheesy potatoes, red cabbage, and the mountains of stuffing.

Networking in person is something that many home-based and virtual business owners struggle with. I know that I could even be accused of hiding behind my keyboard at times.

It’s true, I don’t do a lot of face-to-face networking. I’ve discovered that my ideal client doesn’t live in my area, and they often don’t attend these events either. They’re in their home offices, working virtually like me. I’ve actually found my best clients through social media like Twitter, Facebook, and my blog.
But, once in a while, I do get an urge to connect with my colleagues face to face. And I’ve discovered that it’s not as scary as it sounds! Here are some tips you can use to make your in-person networking painless too.

Don’t talk about your business. Instead, ask the other person about theirs.
In networking situations, we’re often tempted to tell other people everything we can about our business. It’s like we have this idea that if they know all about what we do, they’ll recognize how much they need us.

It’s a far better approach to learn about the other person’s business before telling them about theirs. Ask them about what they do. Then when they answer, ask even more questions. Don’t talk about yours until you’re asked. At that point, you’ll be able to give the person you’re networking with information that’s of interest to them, and they will be ready to hear it.

Keep your business cards in your pocket… or your purse.
At most networking events, you’ll stand up, give a blurb about your business (aka your 30-second intro or elevator speech) then pass out your business cards. But how many of those people do you think will actually keep your business card and contact you?

We do business with people we know, like and trust. A 30-second blurb isn’t enough to gain anyone’s trust. Instead of passing out your card, wait until you’re asked for it. Then you know that person trusts you enough to consider doing business with you. And you can be sure your business card won’t be thrown in the trash.

True networking never looks like networking.
If you’re networking correctly, you’re getting to know the people you’re networking with, and letting them get to know you. There’s nothing scary about it! Instead of looking like someone who’s pushing your business, you’ll look like a person who’s connecting with other people in a very real way.

How To Accomplish Home Based Business Success – Only about 20% of new to the job direct selling business owners actually realize success. Why is there an 80/20 rule in direct selling business? Not even 20% of the new sales reps who start a home business actually stick with it long enough to make money and become successful. What is wrong with that picture?

Profitable Home Business – There are many reasons why reps do not attain success in work at home businesses. The central reason is that they do not treat it like a real business. In the world of brick and mortar businesses everyone knows that it takes time, commitment and investment to create a business with profit. As a matter of truth, most new start-up businesses are told that they need 3-5 years of capitol to invest before they can expect to start to become profitable. Most new Home Party Plan business owners are not even prepared to invest any funds after paying the initial sign-up fee, let alone wait 3-5 years to turn a profit.

In direct selling businesses the new consultant is often told that it is easy. While most direct sales business plans are simple and usually no problem to follow, that does not mean does get involved can do it. A superior attitude to bringing in new sales reps would be to share with honest thoughts how the business works and what it takes to make it. When a newbie direct sales business team member has a better sense of the amount of energy required as well as a true picture of the time frame to achieve a profitable success then they will not get disillusioned and abandon. While it is most likely not necessary for a work at home business owner to wait years years to become profitable, it is not realistic to expect a substantial income from day one. New business owners should be educated to the fact that efforts put into business do not turn up the following week in the form of a pay check but may take several months to pay off.

Small Business Marketing Ideas – The difference between success and failure in most party plan businesses can be as simple as a few business systems and marketing ideas. In order to be a success in home based business, sales reps should put onto practice other basic business practices that all successful businesses utilize. Incorporate these work at home business strategies into your business to guarantee success.

Every business has office hours so schedule your work days.

Get an education. Go to team trainings and seminars.

Use a business plan. Every profitable business operates with a yearly map.

Network your business in many venues.

Go to work everyday. It requires effort to grow a business.

Party Plan Business Failures vs Success Strategies – While these simple guidelines seem almost a given, it is amazing how many Home Party Plan business reps fail for those very reasons. The last bullet point above really is the key strategy to direct sales business success. Frequently, new sales consultants think that their party plan business will be conducted “in between” other life activities, yet yield the results of a viable business. If you want to create an income from your direct selling business, you have to treat it like a business. Reaching goals is based on simple plans incorporated on a consistent basis. Your business cannot be put in after your hectic life. It must be a priority in your life.

It is natural to question your home business mentor but in order to gain success in your home based business, you must have faith. The easiest way to gain faith in your upline is to score and score soon after beginning your home based business. My name is Roger Moody, I operate our national business from home in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this article I will share the importance of goal setting to your success.

Until you have done something, you may not truly believe that it can be done. Once we’ve shown you success then your faith will get stronger. When you get in the habit and set daily goals for yourself, you develop the habit of getting things done and reaping the rewards.

Let me reassure you, even I feel procrastination almost every day. When that demon appears, I know how to defeat it. I am able to push forward in my home based business activities because I have personally experienced success in doing so.

Working your home business is like practicing a sport. Let’s say you are a golfer would you agree that going to the driving range would improve your game on the course? Of course it would improve your game! Achieving simple daily goals in your business is just like practice except its better because instead of a score on a score card our score is in our bank accounts.

If you begin to lose the battle against procrastination, your going to have to force yourself to knock out goals everyday. Once you experience financial victory in your home based business it will become easier and easier for you.

I mentioned earlier that I operate my home based business in Indianapolis, Indiana. The only reason I mentioned it is because it does not matter but I want you to understand that real people win in the home business industry from anywhere.

No matter if you are in Indiana or elsewhere, set daily goals, and force yourself to achieve them. It’s easy to get discouraged when your projects don’t seem to be going anywhere. If you have faith in your mentor and your system, I can personally guarantee success in your home based business…if and only if you stay committed to your daily activity.

For some of us, we need a long-term vision to guide our day-to-day efforts. Your long term vision should be set so high that you realize it will take all out massive action to achieve. But you also need shorter-term vision that can be realized by cashing some checks.

The more goals you achieve, the more positive your attitude will be. It will become easier and easier for you. Your biggest fan is right between your ears and you’ll become much more positive when you see positive results. Also, your home business will thrive when the people around you become more supportive.

In addition to daily goals, set weekly and monthly goals too. Your short-term goals are milestones that keep you moving toward long-term goals. They help you know if you’re going in the right direction.

Breaking down a large project into smaller segments makes it easier to stay focused. Reward yourself when you achieve daily and weekly goals, and give yourself a really special reward when you achieve a monthly goal.

It’s vitally important to experience rewards of successfully completing jobs. It will make it easier to force yourself to keep moving until you finish the next goal and then it’s easier to get started on the next one. Procrastination is natural and kills most home based businesses so learn to beat the urge.

All successful home business owners learn how to identify the procrastination monster, and they know what to do about it when it threatens:

Successful people use their time well. When something comes up that seems more attractive to you, ask yourself: Which of these two things is higher on my list of priorities?

Successful people turn off the phone from time to time. Can you get more accomplished by turning off the ringer on your phone during certain periods of the day? I think about it this way, as a parent are your kids more productive on homework when they are on the phone or off? If that’s true for them it’s true for you!

Successful people keep a log of how they use their time. If you miss a deadline, they plan how to finish it before changing direction.

Successful people develop a routine. They set an objective to accomplish every morning and every afternoon.

Successful people leave time in their daily schedule for contingencies. Every home based business owner that is also a parent knows you must plan for the unexpected but do not allow it to derail you.

Successful people always think twice before postponing a task. Always keep in mind that the procrastination monster is always looming. Recognize it and whip it!

Accomplishing daily goals will help you become more successful in your home based business. Get with your mentor no matter where they are located and set these goals and remain accountable to them.

I hope this article has encouraged you to reach your goals and dreams. If you are ever in need of a new mentor for success do not hesitate to visit ChristianFaithBusiness.com and contact Roger Moody at home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
